Hornsey Town Hall launches help to buy

Hornsey Town Hall launches help to buy in the sought-after North London community of Crouch End.

Hornsey Town Hall by developer Far East Consortium (FEC UK) launches its highly anticipated first phase of apartments under the government’s Help to Buy initiative, enabling first time buyers to secure a stylish home in Crouch End, one of North London’s most sought-after areas and within the grounds of the 1930s Art Deco Town Hall.

As a part of the overall master plan for the development, Hornsey Town Hall itself is undergoing careful restoration and refurbishment to ensure the iconic building and its popular Arts Centre can be enjoyed for many years to come by residents, locals and the wider creative community. It is set to fully open to the public and residents alike in 2022.

Available through Help to Buy is a selection of one-bedroom apartments, priced from £505,950, ready for move ins from winter 2021 into spring 2022. The first phase of units are located in the Uren block – the largest of the new residential buildings – which takes its name from the architect Reginald Uren who designed the original Town Hall and Town Hall Square. Further Help to Buy apartments will be released over the next few months.

Angela Walsh, Sales & Marketing Director at Far East Consortium for Hornsey Town Hall, comments,

“There has been huge interest from first time buyers in Hornsey Town Hall from the moment we went to market, so it’s fantastic to now be in a position to open up the scheme to those starting out on the property ladder. The development ticks so many boxes – it’s in the heart of a thriving community that is blessed with lots of green space nearby and residents have access through the Arts Centre to co-working hubs and a ready-made social and cultural scene right on their doorstep. The design of the apartments, with their Art Deco flourishes and access to outdoor space really appeals to buyers in the current climate who are looking for space and quality interiors.”

Patrizia Coro, Senior Sales Negotiator at Savills, continues,

“There is so much to enjoy about this scheme and the area. You have the history and facilities of the Town Hall which brings an added value to the lifestyle on offer here and you also have Crouch End itself – a friendly neighbourhood surrounded by beautiful parks and green spaces, whilst being well connected to central London.”

Set around the grounds of the iconic Grade II* listed Hornsey Town Hall, the apartments offer that perfect blend of high specification accommodations for modern living, next door to leading entertainment, superb restaurants, and a village-like community.

Key design elements of the apartments include floor-to-ceiling windows and underfloor heating, as well as chevron timber flooring inspired by the Town Hall. Designer kitchens have Terrazzo-inspired kitchen worktops and include fully integrated appliances and state-of-the-art finishes. The bathrooms feature chevron porcelain tiling; a contemporary nod to Hornsey Town Hall’s modernist aesthetic and Terrazzo-inspired vanity units. Many of the apartments will feature balconies and terraces and residents can enjoy access to private and beautiful landscaped gardens. As well as a 24-hour concierge service, there is secure cycle storage available to residents who wish to explore the many cycle routes around the area.

One of the major benefits of living next to the Town Hall is that residents will be able to hire space in a stunning open plan co-working hub, which will form an integral part of the new Arts Centre operated by The TIME + SPACE Co. Designed to attract entrepreneurs, freelancers, creatives and small business owners from the local community; the facility is designed to meet the cultural shift towards individuals wanting to work closer to home and be a part of a thriving community.

The new Arts Centre will also provide outstanding performance arts, restaurants and cafés, and versatile event spaces, including a rooftop bar and terrace – an ideal place to meet friends and family and soak up views of Alexandra Palace.

Crouch End is well connected to London and beyond. Stopping outside the Town Hall Square, the W7 bus runs to Finsbury Park Underground Station, with links into central London via the Victoria line, and National Rail services across the country.

Prices for a one-bedroom apartment start from £505,950. Through London’s Help to Buy scheme, eligible buyers will be able to purchase a home up to the value of £600,000 with a 5% deposit and can benefit from an equity loan of up to 40% of the purchase price. A fee of £500 is required to make a reservation.
